 My requirement is a little out of the ordinary, please let me explain. I work in the Mech Eng dept of Imperial College, London and our 2nd year students build an impeller pump to a given set of requirements for pressure and flow-rate. They work in small groups and design, make and then test their pumps in our teaching workshops.  The project runs all year and towards the end of the project they are asked to re-design their pump for high volume production, as for a washing machine application. There are 36 groups in total shared between 8 supervising tutors, and I would like to provide an example pump for each tutor. So make and model are of little interest to me.  I wanted to buy one first then with a view to buying a further 7. What I am after then is 8 impeller pumps, complete, for the students to review.  They don't need to be the same model, but they must all be equivalent in terms of specification. Can you please let me know if you could help with 8 pumps in the £20 price region.

Incidentally you were right that it was the sensor PCB that was broken. I don’t do electronics but this is a fairly simple PCB & was easy to check resistance values, capacitors & relay (no idea about the little processor). Both contacts on the relay were normally open (one should have been normally closed).  Even my soldering skills could replace the relay. You were also right the start relay is often the cause of problems & mine was no exception as the winding was open circuit.  And of course the switch was also permanently open circuit.  Felt a bit unlucky to have 3 dead components but I guess the faults could have been related.
